Third Visit to Utopia Vic Park

I can't believe I've actually visited Utopia Vic Park for the third time already, and it has only been open for a little under 2 weeks. :S

No, I'm not that huge a fan of bubble tea. I like to drink, but I'm certainly not addicted to it. Therefore I really feel surprised about this. Hehe..

My third visit was about 9:40pm yesterday, and my gawd,



I hadn't seen a small tea shop/bakery in Vic Park soooooooo packed before on a Thursday night. This picture doesn't quite show the actual crowd that was there when I just entered the shop. YES, THERE WERE MORE PEOPLE. I couldn't even squeeze my way to the counter after filling up my order card.

At the time the above picture was taken, here were more people sitting/standing around the couch at the corner of the shop (not in the picture. It should be a little more to the right of this picture and that was the entire space of the shop already) or sitting outside sipping bubble tea, and even more people waiting outside cuz it was just too packed inside. Seriously.

Even the Imp cafe just 2 shops away wasn't this crowded when it just opened couple of months ago. Kudos, Utopia.

Heart-not Matlab

I seriously don't like to use Matlab (a software that kind of combines programming and mathematical computations). I'm just not into dealing with programming and writing algorithms to compute mathematical questions. Booooo :(

This freaking assignment, AND the Heat Transfer assignment are both killing me (and my mates as well lolz..). Me is not happy with that :(

Any Matlab pros come help us please?? I have cookies ._.

Moreover, our - or at least my - "beloved" teaching team for this particular subject is totally not helpful at all in teaching us how to use Matlab. How in the world are we supposed to learn this without YOU FRIGGIN' LECTURERS/TUTORS actually explaining to us how it works instead of shoving our face RIGHT INTO HELP FILES that are written in 4L13N?? Most brilliant of all, when we ask the tutor during the computer lab for guidance, he either asks us back the exact same question we asked him, or FUCKING GRINS AND THEN DO NOTHING??

Seriously.. FML, and Fuck This Subject.

Ahh.. Long time no see, Paradise City XD

Been quite a while since I blogged something, cuz really, nothing much has happened recently.

Went to City to Surf a week ago. It was awesome, except I didn't perform as good as I'd expected :( 80 minutes for 12km. Train train train train for 2010's! Aiming for 70 minutes or less XD

Laughing Gor was pretty a nice movie, despite the fact that suddenly there are so many undercovers in the gangs -.- (ooops, spoiled it for those who haven't watched XD) Nevertheless, the story is pretty nicely executed I'd say, so it was worthwhile.

Now that City to Surf is over, I shall go back to my weights routine.

Today (max I could go so far):
Squats - 75kg
Leg extension - 55kg
Straight-legged deadlift - 60kg
Leg curls - 50kg

Looks like improvement. Yum..

1st Week

One week of uni is finally over.

I actually haven't slept in for 8am classes. Amazing.. Will this persist? Hah! I certainly hope so.

Damn uni tav, the last time I remember, they accepted student ID's DOB for proof of age. Now they don't anymore. Sheez.. Got kicked out yesterday cuz we didn't have our passports with us. I swear I'm gonna get my WA driver's licence this sem!

Hmm... This week has been fairly good, minus the minor sore throat and runny nose which were hella annoying. What can I say, it's still the first week after all!

Ok, I seriously need to restring my wife. I didn't bring her here to leave her naked there alone in the corner x_x

2 weeks left till I go back to Perth. Damn time sure flies pretty fast. I've been spending quite a lot of time with my family, at least more than the last time I came back. Been following my dad around quite often. Half the time I'm his driver XD

On that note, I shall say that... I'm starting to lose the survivability on Malaysian road ahahahaha!! Squeezing out of junctions and cutting queues at highway exits are just not the stuff that I would do anymore. I'd rather quietly stay behind the stop line (or inch out bit by bit to get a clear view of both sides of the junction thanks to stupid corners with lotsa stupid things that blocks the view of incoming traffic) rather than sticking the head of the car out until I block half the junction like most drivers here do. I guess I'll never get out of a busy junction that way XD However! I still speed on freeways highways! XD

Really didn't see it coming.. His death kind of surprised me, really.

What shall I say.. I used to idolize him a lot. His songs were the first English songs that I listened to. I even imitated his dance moves (or at least tried to XD) when I was a little kid.. Like over 10 years ago? X)

THE week

Just started my week of hell. Can I survive this week-long ordeal? I don't know... I suppose I have to? :/

It may last longer than a week, depends on when my groups can finish the 2 different projects..

On a lighter note, I'm going back to Malaysia in less than 4 weeks!! :D
Really can't wait. Gonna change my laptop (gonna miss you.... not) cuz my dad wants my laptop. So that means, time to hunt laptops! I kind of want a different brand of laptop, like Asus as they're famous for providing overclocking tools, but Dell's really the only one that offers online customization and I really prefer my laptop to be customized to my needs. It also offers one of the best support around.. (providing it's still under warranty) So maybe it's Dell again I guess. *shrugs*

Before I get too happy and excited about getting a new laptop over this 2 and a half years old machine though, I gotta back-up some stuff and then reformat it. I guess I feel more comfortable giving my dad a clean laptop without all my junks in there and all the old traces of registries and long-lost files clogging up the computer. Hopefully I have enough time to do it after my exams before I go back.

Alrighty, that's about it I guess. Time to get back to my work *sobs*

Eff-ing Chemistry Labs

Chemistry practical test in less than 12 hours..

Shit... I really hate this particular test.. Semi-micro analysis is really shit.

Dealing with freakin' delicate stuff with time-constraint pressure really suck balls. :/

The first part of it is flame test. My experience with flame test in that particular lab is... No matter how I washed the wire, it would almost always give me that bright orange colour - sodium's colour. FFS, how to identify like that??

The amount of substances that we use is another issue. Small, delicate amounts. A single step wrong and we're screwed.

Damn... We're not even doing analytical chemistry in later years, why don't the school just reshuffle the syllabus a bit like what the pharmacy school does so that we don't have to learn every single thing that pure science students learn? Pffft

Meh..

Art Festival

It's been like half a month since I've updated my blog. Ahahaha

Was kind of lazy and got occupied by other stuff, like getting busy with my (well, half mine) new XBox 360 with Guitar Hero World Tour. XD

Well my sister wanted to get the Guitar Hero ever since we tried it out at JB Hi-Fi. And I don't mind playing it either cuz it's got some cool old school rock songs so, why not :D

A while back, there was this art festival in Perth, and some funny mannequins popped out around the street mall as part of the festival thingie.

Here's a couple of them that I snapped pictures of..


In this set-up, Target was on fire and fire fighters were evacuating people. The glass window at the bottom of the picture was actually redecorated such that it showed some chaotic scenes of the "fire". (Target itself was still operating normally)


They even put smoke generator to simulate smoke from the fire.

There were also a few other, like one that I noticed first before I realised about the art festival, which was a very old car with some mannequin passengers in it.

Odd. Funny. Interesting.

Back from Malaysia

3 weeks in Malaysia.

3 fun weeks. Not enough. :/
The heck did I pick those dates, and ended up with only 3 weeks in Malaysia. boohooooo..

Didn't really do much the day I arrived. Ate and ate with family. Then at night, I went to mamak with high school mates. Had a nice session of catching up with them. Most of them didn't change much in looks. lol.

The next day, I flew to Penang for a 3-day trip with uni coursemates. What can I say about Penang, I haven't been there for ages. The last time I went there was when I was a little kid. And so of course, we ate and ate and ate in the food heaven. We weren't that interested in historical and heritage stuff there :P
The 2nd day of the trip was kind of fun. Woke up rather early in the morning and went to explore the area around my hotel by myself while the others are still sleeping. I didn't even know where I ventured to. It was an hour of walk, sightseeing and just walking. When I told them about it, they were like "omg you walked so far?!?!" ahahaha.. Oh well, I managed to navigate my way back to the hotel in time, so whatever ^^ Water activities were fun in that afternoon. Jetskiing, parasailing, and banana boat riding were one helluva awesome experience. Got muscle aching all over but damn it was worth it. :D

After the trip, it was all meeting friends, and CNY. Nothing really special until the fourth day of CNY.. 3 guys: me, Zi Wei and Vincent. Location: my house. Activity: Texas Hold'em, drinking vodka. Damn that sounded real ghey. XD then went to play pool after 2 drinks. Surprised that we could still hit the balls. ahahaha

The 5th and 6th days of CNY were mostly spent visiting friends' places doing 团拜 or some call it 班拜 because it involves only Harmonians. It was pretty fun. Going from house to house, chatting and gambling again and again.

Monday was another fun day gathering with collegemates. Only about 9 of us met up cuz I was organising it and I only had that many contacts (actually I had less, had to ask Alice and Kim to help me ask). Had lunch at Carl's Jr. It was my first time at it, and to be honest, being fast food, they were pretty good. Nice burger, nice chips, just a bit pricey for fast food :P also celebrated eujin's birthday in advance. And then some cam-whoring sessions. I haven't got the photos but eujin posted some here.

Met up with Gene too on that day, like, FINALLY. Been wanting to meet up with him since I came back. Damn busy man :/ then karaoke with Zi and mates in the evening. The karaoke in M'sia is 2047 times nicer than Perth's karaoke T___T

The last few days in Malaysia were mostly spent with family, buying stuff that me and my sis will need in Perth, and another new shirt. Meh..

And now I'm back in Perth .__.

Back to Malaysia

Been back to Malaysia for almost a week already.

But I haven't got much time to online and update the blog. Didn't bring my laptop home. Can't be bothered anyway. Good food + tv + friends + family = enough for my 3 weeks stay in Malaysia.

A cooler summer day

Finally a day that's cooler than usual. Clouds + a 15 minutes drizzle sure cooled down the weather by a hell lot. 27 degrees yo!! For once in the summer, I didn't have to sweat like hell in my house, or when I'm walking down the streets.

For once, I didn't feel like wearing only boxers in the house during the afternoon -.-

But I don't have a pair of boxers. Ahahahahahaha. Screw that.

That was yesterday. Today it's 30. But it isn't that bad. Still pretty nice. The house doesn't feel like steamhouse.

Lately, I don't have that urge to touch any online games at all, except for Utopia, cuz it's sort of a commitment that I can't just shake off whenever I like. But I'm sure as hell that I'm leaving by the end of this week. <3

I kind of lost that emo feeling lately. Wonder why. Thinking back, I think I was quite emo a few weeks back. bleh.. Of course it wasn't pleasant at all, but I couldn't help myself? .__.
Well it's a good thing I've shaken it off now. Right now, I'm feeling.. hmm.. Excited! And nervous? XD

Sister's Birthday. Bought lotto in the afternoon.. Then at 6:30pm, the news channel announced the lotto winning numbers. One of my games hit the 4th Division win! And so me and my sister were so excited, tried to find out payouts online later, then ALL OF THE F***ING SUDDEN, my laptop adapter decided to stop working!! There goes my 2nd last week till I go back to Malaysia, I thought. Ordered a new adapter from eBay. so all my winnings from Lotto went straight into buying the new adapter. *Sigh*

Novel reading spree commenced. And I decided to pick up 24 and started watching it.

Went to pick up my poor guitar. I guess it was fixed pretty nicely for 80 bucks.. But the problems were not addressed 100% perfectly, so oh well. I guess by the end of this year I'll buy another guitar that is not a cheapo. Lesson learned: fingerboard moisture must be maintained well to prevent neck and fret problems.
